GERONA, Tarlac (March 30, 2026) — The Municipal Government of Gerona has launched a formal investigation into reported “inappropriate activities” during the Miss Gay Pangkalawakan 2026 held recently at a barangay fiesta.
In an official public notice, Mayor May Eclar expressed strong condemnation regarding scenes deemed unfit for public viewing, particularly as the event took place in the presence of minors.
The local government emphasized that while they recognize the importance of activities that foster unity and an inclusive community, such events must be conducted with respect and adherence to standards of order and decency.
The statement served as a stern reminder to organizers that public events must remain safe, orderly, and suitable for all audiences.
Mayor Eclar confirmed that the ongoing investigation aims to determine the full extent of the incident and to hold those involved accountable under existing laws and local ordinances.
The lady mayor did not name the erring village, but Don Basilio celebrated its barangay fiesta on March 28.
