TARLAKENYO (Feb. 18, 2026) – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has cracked down on three driving schools in Tarlac for allegedly turning the road to a driver’s license into a shortcut.
The move is part of a stricter implementation of regulatory standards about driver education and certification in the country. The transport licensing body has not identified the erring schools.
According to an official statement from the LTO, two of the involved institutions are first-time offenders. However, the third school is a repeat violator with a recorded history of infractions dating back to 2024 and continuing into the early months of this year.
The schools are facing serious allegations regarding the irregular issuance of certificates of completion for both Practical Driving Courses and Theoretical Driving Courses.
Authorities claim these certificates were handed out despite students failing to complete the mandatory training hours or receive the prescribed instructions required by law.
The investigators also discovered that the driving schools were allegedly providing students with answer keys for their examinations, effectively bypassing the assessment of their actual knowledge and skills.
This latest enforcement action follows the 30-day suspension of three driving schools last month, including the repeat offender. The LTO has now sanctioned a total of five different driving schools in Tarlac during the first two months of 2026.
Tarlakenyo has reached out to Tarlac City LTO chief Amalia Sigua for comments on the rampant suspension of driving schools in the province. Sigua has yet to reply.
