TARLAC CITY, Tarlac (Jan. 14, 2026) – In a collaborative effort to promote community health and wellness, the Provincial Government of Tarlac and the Tarlac City Government successfully conducted a Medical and Dental Mission on January 13 in Tarvet, Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City.
Spearheaded by Governor Christian Yap and Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap, the initiative provided free medical and dental consultations, along with essential medicines, to residents—a testament to the government’s commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to the people.
The event saw the active participation of healthcare workers from Tarlac Provincial Hospital and numerous dedicated volunteers, who worked together to ensure the smooth delivery of services. Both Governor Yap and Mayor Yap personally attended the mission, expressing their sincere support for the health and welfare of every Tarlaqueño.
In her message during the event, Mayor Susan Yap emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare.
“Kapag matanda na, marami ng sakit sa katawan, kaya po andyan ang MDM, bago po lumala ang sakit, may karamdaman o wala ay magdesisyon na po kayo at magpa-check up,” she stated. She also announced upcoming developments, including the planned groundbreaking of an improved dialysis center funded by the Department of Health.
Governor Christian Yap echoed this commitment to human development, highlighting health, education, employment, and training as top priorities under his leadership.
“Ang Medical mission ay tututok doon sa preventive, bago lumala yung mga sakit ninyo ay makita na natin, kay may mga truck tayo ngayon na nagba-blood chem, nagte-test sa inyo dahil kapag malala na yan ay masakit sa bulsa, kaya maaga pa lang ay makita na natin at madaling gamutin,” he explained.
The mission was warmly received by the community, including retired Philippine Army Lt. Edwin and Barangay Kagawad Elmer Maliwat, who expressed deep gratitude for the timely medical assistance that will help residents save on healthcare expenses.
This marks the second Medical and Dental Mission held in Tarvet, reinforcing the continuity of Serbisyong MaYap—service with genuine compassion. The provincial government has also announced that similar missions will continue to rotate across the province, ensuring that more communities benefit from accessible healthcare programs.
Through the united efforts of doctors, nurses, volunteers, and partner agencies, Tarlac moves forward in its goal of building healthier, stronger, and more progressive communities.
