TARLAKENYO (January 15, 2026) – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially extended discounted transaction rates for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through SEC Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2026.
This extension allows MSMEs to continue accessing a 20 percent discount on corporate registration until March 31 and a 50 percent discount on securities registration until June 30. Since the program began in July 2025, the Commission has already provided approximately P34.5 million in relief to over 15,000 businesses.
“The SEC is entering the new year with a renewed commitment to support the expansion of MSMEs, given their crucial role in driving the country’s economic growth,” said SEC Chairperson Francis Lim.
“The discounted corporate registration and filing fees will help ease the cost of compliance and encourage more entrepreneurs to formalize and tap the capital market for the expansion of their businesses,” he added.
To qualify for these lower rates, applicants must meet the asset size criteria defined under Republic Act No. 9501 and submit a Certification of MSME Qualification. While the discounts apply across various sectors, including power generation and agri-business, most applicants for discounted securities registration must maintain a paid-up capital of P25 million.
