CAMILING, Tarlac (Sept. 10, 2025) — A total of 176 graduates from Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), belonging to Batch 2025–2026, has been officially honored ahead of their departure for an international agricultural training program in Israel.
The initiative, facilitated by the Agrostudies International Training Center, offers a blend of classroom education and hands-on farm internships across Israel.
With backing from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, the program aims to share advanced farming techniques and support global food security efforts. TAU’s collaboration with Agrostudies, supported by TESDA and other agencies, is now in its fifth year.
The send-off event took place on September 5 at the university’s Learning Resource Center. Attendees included TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, along with Vice President for Finance and Administration Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Sonny DC. Torres.
Participants from the College of Agriculture and Forestry, College of Engineering and Technology, and College of Business and Management will engage in an 11-month on-the-job training program under MASHAV, Israel’s development cooperation agency.
The partnership is also set to benefit approximately 500 students affiliated with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and TESDA, providing them with modern agricultural expertise and practical experience.
Ms. Grace Kelly G. Dela Cruz, Agrostudies Coordinator at TAU’s Student Placement Office, encouraged the interns to make the most of what she described as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” expressing hopes for their successful and knowledge-rich return.
Through programs like this, TAU continues to expand access to world-class training and employment opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to developing globally competitive graduates who can contribute to community development and national progress.
