CONCEPCION, Tarlac (October 21, 2024) — In a town renowned for its rich agricultural heritage, Mayor Noel Villanueva is making significant strides to revitalize and enhance the local agriculture sector.

The latest project of Villanueva is upgrading the goat-raising industry in the town. Rita, Pando, Tinang, Mabilog, Malupa, Sto. Cristo, San Francisco, and Parulung.

According to Municipal veterinarian Dr. Roland Arciga, the Anglo-Nubian bucks distributed to the goat raisers will slowly upgrade the local goat stock in the town and will also see them mature in seven months, local breed of goats will mature at 12 months.

“Ang mga Anglo-Nubian ay mas mabilis lumaki at mas mabigat ang timbang. Sa loob lamang ng seven montgs ay pwede ng ibente, kumpara sa isang taon bago maibenta ang mga local breed,” said Dr. Arciga.

Local goat farmer Roberto Arceo said that he is thankful for the assistance given to them by Villanueva.

“Malaking tulong ito sa amin ni mayor dahil mas kikita kami. Goat farmer ako since 2004 at napagtapos ko ang dalawa kong anak dahil dito,” Arceo said.
