Construction business to recover next year

CAPAS, Tarlac (July 13, 2024) – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said that the private construction business is expected to rebound next year to the pre-pandemic level.

Speaking at the Build Better More Infrastructure Forum in New Clark City yesterday, NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said that the industry will be helped by the easing of inflation and interest rates.

“With public investments coming in strongly, that will be the signal for the private sector to come in too, especially that regional and global community investment climate is improving, notwithstanding these geopolitical tensions, because that’s another factor that can matter. But I think we are there,” Balisacan said.

The NEDA chief said more investors, both from local and foreign sources, are expected to put their capital into more construction projects.
