BAMBAN, Tarlac (June 24, 2024) — “You have been removed from the NPC’s roster of members effective immediately.”
This was the notice sent to suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo by the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) yesterday.
The NPC expelled Guo from the party after Tarlac Governor Susan Yap wrote a letter to the party petitioning for her expulsion. Guo was sworn in as an NPC member only in August last year.
“As espoused in the core values of the NPC, all party members shall have a strong sense of country and duty, of statesmanship and understanding; and shall strive to become a [politician worth of his country’s trust.
“All members are beholden to protect and promote the good name of the NPC, and at all times, must conduct themselves with honor, honesty, and integrity in their politics and public service,” the NPC Secretary General Mark Llandro Mendoza said in the letter.
The letter cited the recent controversies involving the embattled Guo.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group last Friday filed a complaint against Guo and others for alleged human trafficking in connection to the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in this municipality.
She is also being linked to the raided POGO Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.
The NPC cannot tolerate your [Guo] dishonest and predominantly deceitful conduct which lie contrary to the party’s core principles and functions,” Mendoza said in the notice.
